Asking me to choose a favorite restaurant is a little difficult, because my perfect dinner experience involves more than one stop. I’d start with drinks and an appetizer at Six in the Sky, taking in the views and, hopefully, some beautiful weather. From there, I’d take a brisk walk downtown for dinner at either Table 50, which I feel has been consistently excellent for decades, or Sidecar, a relatively new favorite of mine. It’s the combination of atmosphere, great food, and enjoying downtown Roanoke that makes the evening perfect for me.

I spent the first two decades of my career as a salon and spa owner and stylist, and one of the most important things I took away from those years is the understanding that even the simplest transaction is never simply transactional. People bring emotions, expectations, memories, fears, and hopes into the decisions they make. I believe those feelings deserve a place in the process—especially in real estate, where the decisions are often deeply personal. I also believe a good real estate agent should be a lot like a good friend: someone you can trust to tell you the truth, even when it may not be what you want to hear; someone who keeps you grounded when emotions begin to pull you off course; and someone who never loses sight of what is ultimately best for you.
