My first memories of The Homeplace go back to Sunday afternoons with my family. After church in Buchanan, we would make the drive to Catawba for lunch. It was more than simply going out to eat, it was part of our family's routine.

It was tradition that made the meals that much more special!

Many of our visits were tied to important occasions. Easter Sunday and Mother's Day were times when gathering at The Homeplace felt like a natural part of celebrating together. There was something meaningful about sharing a meal there after church enjoying familia...

If there is one thing I love, it is finding fun ways to enjoy everything Smith Mountain Lake has to offer and the Virginia Dare is truly one of those special lake experiences!

Take to the Lake Aboard the Virginia Dare

There is just something magical about seeing SML from the water. The mountain views feel bigger, life slows down a little and even those of us who spend plenty of time around the lake can discover something new. Add in good food, cold drinks and a beautiful sunset, and honestly…what more could you ask for?

For more than three decades, the Virginia Dare has been a familiar and beloved sight on Smith Mountain Lake. This charming replica side-wheeler gives visitors and locals an easy, laid-back way to explore the lake. No boat ownersh...

My friend group consists of a handful of twenty-somethings who would be there for each other day and night. Luckily for...

One of my favorite things about living and working in the Roanoke area is discovering local businesses that have a personality all their own. Kind Brew Coffee & Tea House is definitely one of those places.

As a REALTOR®, I spend a lot of time talking about what makes a house feel like home, but I also believe the places surrounding our homes matter just as much. The coffee shops we frequent, the small businesses we support, the local makers we discover, and the people we meet along the way are all part of what creates a real sense of community.
And Kind Brew checks a lot of boxes for me personally: coffee, thrifting, handmade gifts, local vendors, and supp...

ARTICLE EXCERPT:

If you've been thinking about buying a home in Franklin County, Smith Mountain Lake, or Rocky Mount, you've probably asked yourself one question more than any other:

Should I buy now or wait?

It's a fair question. Mortgage rates remain higher than many buyers became accustomed to several years ago, but the local real estate market is telling an important story that every buyer should understand.

The Franklin County Market Is Becoming More Balanced

Unlike the frantic buying environment we saw a few years ago, today's market is giving buyers more opportunitie...
